Real Talk Fridays

Truth-telling for people who are tired of pretending everything’s fine.

Welcome to Real Talk Fridays, a weekly space where we say what’s actually going on — in leadership, in business, and in ourselves.
No spin. No jargon. Just what’s real.

At Engage3P, our job isn’t to sell false optimism. It’s to help companies get unstuck by facing what’s hard to say out loud.
The conversations you’ve been avoiding? That’s where change starts.

Sometimes the stuckness comes from the system.
And sometimes — if we’re being honest — it comes from ourselves.

So let’s talk about it.

Is It True?

One of my favorite people of all time once taught me a simple tool that changed how I think.

When you’re facing something hard, ask yourself:

  1. Is it true?

  2. Is it really true?

  3. Am I sure it’s really true?

It’s such a small shift. But wow — it’s powerful.

We get into our own heads so fast.
We assume the worst.
We create stories about what other people are thinking, why something went wrong, what it means about us.

And then we make decisions based on those stories — decisions that feel right in the moment, but might not be grounded in reality.

When I built Engage3P, I did it with this in mind: we need space.

Space to pause.
To question.
To reflect on where we’re stuck before we make a big move.
To slow down long enough to ask: Is it true?

I see this all the time in organizations. People assume someone’s resisting change but they never ask why. Leaders jump into a new platform rollout without stopping to ask if the problem is even tech-related.
We fill in the blanks with assumptions, instead of slowing down to test the truth. That pause? It’s where clarity lives.

That’s where better decisions come from. And that’s where real change begins.

More next Friday.
Until then, what’s one thing you’re telling yourself this week…
… that might not be true?
